Qualitative assessment
USAID/ Save the Children, Ethiopia; Qualitative assessment on risky sexual behaviour and economic strengthening (ES) interventions in women targeted by the TransACTION program in Ethiopia (July 2012- January 2013):
The TransACTION project (2009-2014) targeted populations who face a high risk of HIV infection in Ethiopia. The project provided targeted prevention of new HIV infections by strengthening linkages to community-based care and support services, HIV counseling and testing, and treatment of sexually transmitted infections for at-risk populations. The project worked to increase demand for interpersonal counseling, health services, and social support activities and to improve the capacity of local NGOs and private facilities to manage targeted prevention programs. ABH collaborated with Save the Children (USA) and FHI 360. ABH substantiated the major findings of a series of quantitative, baseline surveys and examined the relationship between economic strengthening and reduction of risky sexual behaviours among members of female at-risk groups in urban and mobile settings in Ethiopia, along with other activities.
