USAID/Pact/Child Fund and fhi360, Ethiopia; Yekokeb Berhan program for highly vulnerable children (HVC) in Ethiopia: Mid-Term Evaluation (February 2014- July 2014):
With funding from the USAID, Yekokeb Berhan aimed to reach 500,000 highly vulnerable children throughout Ethiopia by strengthening the capacity of government and community systems and structures to deliver essential services and increase resilience. Led by Pact, FHI 360 partnered with Child Fund and other civil society organizations to reach all regions in the country, as well as two administrative cities and 231 selected woredas in 2011-2016. Key aspects of Yekokeb Berhan included health care systems strengthening, food and nutrition, database development and strengthening, behavior change communication and national systems strengthening, etc. ABH conducted the mid-term evaluation to determine the achievement and performance of the program at mid-term. It was a cross-sectional mixed study (qualitative and quantitative) that evaluated all the aspects of the program. Data was collected from 2,142 households covering 2,138 caregivers and 2,121 highly vulnerable children.
