Amin and Yanet General Hospitals Reach SafeCare Level 4 Certification.
Amin General Hospital and Yanet General Hospital have achieved a significant milestone in healthcare quality, successfully attaining Level 4 SafeCare certification. This prestigious recognition marks a major step in their commitment to patient safety and quality service.
The official SafeCare certificates were presented to the hospitals by Dr. Markos Feleke, CEO of ABH Partners and President of the Ethiopian Healthcare Federation (EHF).
In his address, Dr. Markos acknowledged both facilities for their willingness for the SafeCare assessment. He highlighted the Ethiopian Healthcare Federation’s commitment to supporting private healthcare facilities in implementing the internationally recognized SafeCare approach, making such critical quality initiatives more accessible within the country. Dr. Markos further noted that the SafeCare package is an internationally recognized set of standards that helps private facilities ensure safety and quality. This foundation prepares them for and supports their continued journey toward regional and international accreditation. He also pointed out that facilities can pursue these higher levels of recognition after achieving the Level 5 SafeCare standard, concluding by emphasizing that the SafeCare Ethiopia team will provide every necessary support.
Mr. Nejmudin Workicho, Quality Director of Amin General Hospital, emphasized their commitment to high-quality care, quoting WHO Director Dr. Tedros Adhanom “If it’s not safe, it’s not care.” Mr. Nejmudin explained how the SafeCare approach will significantly enhance their ongoing efforts in delivering superior service.
The Hospital Manager of Yanet General Hospital, Dr. Abel Tesfaye stated that “this achievement gives us both an opportunity and a responsibility. It gives us a responsibility to work hard to reach Level 5 SafeCare certification.”
Mr. Mohammedamin Adel, Quality Manager of SafeCare Ethiopia, shared insights about SafeCare, its benefits, features, and the support the SafeCare system provides.
The event also marked the expansion of the quality movement, as Teklehaimanot General Hospital and Washington Healthcare signed agreements to officially begin their own SafeCare quality journeys.
