Markos Feleke Haile, (MD, MPH), Founder and CEO of ABH Partners Plc

Markos Feleke Haile, (MD, MPH), Founder and CEO of ABH Partners Plc, obtained his MD from Jimma University and Masters of Public Health (MPH) from Haramaya University. Dr. Markos has served in governmental, private and nongovernmental organizations at different capacities, ranging from a clinical work to overall program implementation and management. Working as Public Health Programs Coordinator at Merlin-Ethiopia, he has spearheaded the malaria prevention and control effort by primary health care units in Oromia Regional State. He has also served as a program and training consultant for Save Your Generation - Ethiopia (a partner of FHI/USAID) and JHPIEGO (a partner of US CDC) focussing on HIV/AIDS related trainings including Infection Prevention, PMTCT, PIHCT, SBM-R, ART and PMTCT/MNCH and HCT.

Dr. Markos was involved in the preparation of various national training packages related to HIV/AIDS Prevention, Care and Treatment. He also has been working with AED/Linkages project as consultant trainer on ENA/BCC. With Columbia University, ICAP-Ethiopia, he has served with a capacity of PMTCT and Pediatric HIV/AIDS Program Advisor for Oromia, Somali and Harari Regional States and Dire Dawa City Administration. Dr. Markos’ professional experience in the past years has given him the opportunity of working with the regional health bureaus exposure to the overall health system in the country.

His capability in networking and leadership in terms of efficient coordination of resources of all kinds is commendable. Working with many USG and UN agencies funded programs as program advisor and technical lead, he has accumulated knowledge on requirements and compliances needed by USG/UN funded programs and projects both on grant basis and performance based subcontract. Since 2005, he has been actively involved in the roll out of comprehensive HIV/AIDS programs in Ethiopia supported by PEPFAR and the Global Fund working with governmental and nongovernmental organizations.Working at ABH, Dr. Markos has participated in designing and conducting over 15 qualitative and quantitative researches. With his rich technical and leadership experiences, Dr. Markos leads the technical and administrative operation of the company.
